  • A Big Thank You

LACRC has come a long way in a short time with progress being helped considerably by grants the Club has received through various community funding schemes.

The Club would particularly like to thank the following for their generous support.

The National Lottery Awards For All Scotland for making it possible to acquire a second skiff. Carraig Gheal and Green Power for funds to enable the bare wood boat to be finished and made fully operational through the purchase of a set of oars, cover and road trailer. The owners and operators of An Suidhe Wind Farm, Green Gecco and Innogy Renewables UK Limited, as well as Foundation Scotland for funding a launch trolley and a team gazebo.

Many individuals have given their time, skills, effort and money effort to support LACRC since its formation in July 2018. Sadly, since March 2020, the Club's activities have been greatly curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic but at least we have managed to get an excellent interactive website up and running and for that our thanks must go to Stuart Turner (Arran CRC) who apart from creating it is also helping to keep it updated.

LACRC would like to thank LoveOban for donating gift vouchers each Spring which among other things have helped the Club to buy regatta/raffle prizes from local businesses. Also, a special thanks to Dawnfresh Seafoods Ltd for their generous gift in July during the pandemic lockdown which has helped the Club keep its finances afloat.

Once again, LACRC would like to thank Carraig Gheal and Green Power for the recent award of two separate micro grants to have a spare oar made, to buy a Personal Location Beacon (PLB); and to assist towards the hire charges associated with hosting the Club's next Adventure Regatta at Dalavich 22-24 April 2022. Also, the Club is very grateful to Rory Cowan for his skill and willingness to make the spare oar along with the others used by both our skiffs.
